We help clients fulfil their health, safety, and compliance responsibilities under current legislation, providing Principal Designer services under CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act 2022, as well as CDM Advisor support.
Our Services
CDM Principal Designer
Acting as CDM Principal Designers (CDM PD), we manage health and safety during the design phase of a project. We coordinate designers to ensure compliance, identify and mitigate foreseeable risks, and manage the flow of pre-construction information to contractors. We are responsible for preparing and maintaining the Health & Safety File, ensuring that all safety information is accurate and up to date throughout the project.
Building Regulations Principal Designer
Under the Building Safety Act, we act as Building Regulations Principal Designers (BR PD) to ensure that design work complies with building regulations and manage design risks from the client’s appointment through to project completion. Acting as the lead designer, we coordinate with the Principal Contractor, share relevant safety information, and actively oversee design compliance. At the end of the project, we sign a declaration confirming that all duties have been fulfilled, demonstrating competence and regulatory compliance.
CDM Advisor
Acting as CDM advisors, we support clients by explaining their legal duties, assessing risks, and briefing them on project roles. We prepare and review documentation such as pre-construction information and Health & Safety Files, check the competence of designers and contractors, conduct audits of risk assessments and management arrangements, and perform site inspections. We liaise with the HSE, including submitting F10 notifications when required.
