Our Services
Principal Designer (CDM)
When we fulfil the Principal Designer (CDM) role, we take responsibility for managing health and safety throughout the pre-construction phase and ensuring full compliance with CDM Regulations. We guide clients in understanding their duties, advise on appointments, support statutory notifications, and check that adequate resources are in place for safe project delivery.
We manage all pre-construction information, gathering and sharing surveys, reports, and historical data so the team can make informed design decisions. We lead regular design risk reviews, working closely with designers and contractors to identify hazards early and ensure risks are properly assessed and mitigated. When design changes occur, we assess their impact on health and safety to keep solutions safe, practical, and compliant.
We also coordinate the preparation of the Health and Safety File, ensuring essential information is available for future maintenance or refurbishment. Throughout the design stage, we monitor progress, report on compliance, and keep safety at the forefront of project development.
Principal Designer (Building Regulations)
Under the Building Safety Act, we take all reasonable steps to ensure that our own designs and those produced by other consultants comply with Building Regulations, including structural safety, fire protection, energy performance, and accessibility. We verify the competence of designers and contractors, ensuring only suitably qualified and experienced professionals contribute to safety-critical decisions.
We manage the “Golden Thread” of information, maintaining accurate, secure records of design and safety data throughout the project. We liaise directly with the Building Safety Regulator, coordinating submissions and addressing compliance issues.
We also lead collaboration across all designers and specialists, resolving conflicts and ensuring safety remains central, supported by formal competence checks and statutory declarations where required.
CDM Advisor
When we act as CDM advisors, we guide clients on their legal responsibilities, supporting duty holder appointments, resource allocation, and risk management to ensure safe and compliant project delivery. We manage pre-construction information, providing surveys, site history, and risk data so designers and contractors can plan work safely and reduce hazards.
We review the competence of appointed duty holders, verifying that they have the skills, experience, and resources to fulfil their roles effectively. We assist the Principal Contractor with Construction Phase Plans, coordinating safe sequencing of works and welfare provisions.
Throughout construction, we monitor sites, carry out inspections, and provide practical recommendations to maintain health and safety. We also compile the Health and Safety File, ensuring essential information is available for future maintenance, refurbishment, or demolition.
