Multi-Storey Car Park

YMD Boon was appointed by Stepnell on behalf of MHR, a leading provider of HR and payroll software, to deliver a new state-of-the-art staff car park at MHR’s headquarters in Ruddington Fields Business Park, Nottingham.

Delivered over a 52-week programme, the £4.5 million development was completed in collaboration with BSP Consulting. The four-storey structure provides 190 secure parking spaces, significantly increasing on-site parking capacity for staff and visitors while supporting the continued growth of the organisation.

Sustainability formed an important part of the design. The car park includes dedicated electric vehicle charging points and roof-mounted solar panels, which generate renewable energy to power the building’s internal lighting and EV charging facilities.

The structure incorporates modern off-site construction techniques, utilising a precast concrete frame, floors and wall panels. The external walls are formed from brick-bonded concrete panels that were manufactured and pointed off-site, improving build quality and programme efficiency.

The architectural design was carefully considered to complement the surrounding office buildings. Materials and detailing reflect the character of the wider campus, including a hybrid steel-framed pitched roof finished with slate to match the adjacent buildings, ensuring the structure integrates seamlessly within the business park setting.
